Rapha X Outdoor Voices

For female riders and recreationalists.

In collaboration with Outdoor Voices, the creative direction centred on delivering a confident, inclusive expression of cycling. One that welcomed women into the sport without diluting the technical performance synonymous with the brand. The aim was to remove perceived barriers through colour, graphic language, and materiality, creating a collection that felt both emotionally accessible and technically uncompromising.

The collaboration originated from a shared riding trip in Mallorca. The architectural terrazzo found throughout the region became a foundational reference, with its natural depth and organic variation informing the palette. Earth-toned colours were drawn directly from the mineral qualities of the landscape.

Garments were constructed using layered fabrics and transparent panels to create visual depth, echoing the complexity and richness of terrazzo surfaces in motion.

Print development was led by an exploration of terrazzo’s natural composition and textural complexity. Through experimental printmaking techniques, including watercolour, transparency, and layered processes. Bespoke textures were developed to emulate the embedded fragments found within stone.

These textures were refined into a series of repeat patterns that informed both material selection and scale across the range.

Transparency, layering, and varied print applications were considered holistically, allowing individual pieces to combine when worn together, forming a richly layered visual language that evolved through movement.
